Prof. Md. Habibur Rahman was born in Bamna in the district of Borguna, Bangladesh on if January, 1949. He graduated from Dhaka Medical College in 1973 and stood 4th with Honours in Pathology. He got FCPS in Medicine in 1980 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons, M.Sc in Nephrology in 1984 from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K. and FRCP in 1994from Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, U.K.
He worked in Dhaka Medical College, Rajshahi Medical College & Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the Department of Medicine and Nephrology and retired as Professor and Chairman of Nephrology from BSMMU, Dhaka in 2013.
He was the Past President of Bangladesh Renal Association and Editor of Bangladesh Renal Journal.
He was a Common Wealth scholar in U.K. and WHO Fellow in Nephrology.
He was a Member of EDTA, APSN, ISN and NUTS of SAARC.
He participated in many conferences of Nephrology in Asia, Europe and USA and Presented Scientific Papers.
He published 136 Scientific Papers in National and International Journals.
His wife was Prof. of Gynaecology in Medical Colleges. He has three children. All of them are doctors and working in different medical college of Bangladesh.
